If you’re someone who loves a beautifully wrapped gift, but also is a tad uncomfortable with the amount of paper rubbish that comes with Christmas morning, we have the perfect little hack for you.You see, Kmart sells packs of three tea towels for $5 and there really isn’t any such thing as not needing a new tea towel, is there? But what does this have to do with wrapping paper? Well, we’re glad you asked. Just pair your tea towel with some twine or ribbon and you have the perfect, reusable gift wrap for $1.60 per parcel!
How does it work?
All you need to do is fold it around the gift like regular wrapping paper and secure it with the twine. It’s a bit trickier to get the hang of compared to the old fold and stick method, but you do save hours of pre-Christmas-time spent searching for scissors and sticky tape. So it’s really a win-win.
If the gift is cylindrical or soft, you can even roll it in the tea towel and fasten each end with elastic bands, so it looks like a bon-bon. Pretty cool, right?! It’s not just a Christmas hack though, you can (obviously) also do it with regular tea towels too.
But just quietly; is this something that people have been doing forever that we just didn’t know about? Have you ever received a gift wrapped in a tea towel?
I created this hack in 2018 for Kidspot (told you I have been banging on about organisation and life hacks for a long time!) But for a little update, how cute are these Kmart Christmas Tea Towels?
